SOBRE O AUTOR

                            John Tallis (1815 ou 1816-3 junho 1876) foi um editor cartográfico inglês.  Sua empresa, John Tallis and Company, publicava views, mapas e atlas em Londres, no período aproximadamente 1838-1851.

Tallis iniciou com uma editora com Frederick Tallis em Cripplegate em 1842, a empresa mudou-se para Smithfield em 1846, e foi dissolvida em 1849. De 1851-1854 Tallis trabalhou fundou uma nova empresa John Tallis and Company. Ele morava em New Cross, sudeste de Londres.
